Barbara Vall is a multidisciplinary designer, maker, and founder of Studio.B, a material-driven design practice based in Edinburgh.
Her work combines design, making, and material research to explore how objects emerge through experimentation, construction, and material inquiry. Working across functional and sculptural projects, she investigates material relationships, structural systems, and spatial composition through a hands-on process of testing, prototyping, and fabrication.
Drawing on a background in graphic and web design, her practice has evolved towards material-led making, working with reclaimed, industrial, and emerging materials, including biomaterials and mycelium-based composites.
Alongside her studio practice, Barbara has extensive experience in education and creative learning environments. She is interested in how knowledge can be shared through making, workshops, and material exploration.
Originally from Barcelona, and currently dividing her time between Edinburgh and Barcelona, she is open to research collaborations, exhibitions, residencies, educational projects, and design opportunities.
